Hi,
When quarter pel motion estimation is enabled, then halh pel samples are
not bilinearly interpolated. They are estimated at a block level by using
8-tap symmetrical FIR filter. At the block edges/boundaries, mirror
extension is done because of 8-tap filter. Quarter pel samples are
interpolated from the half pel and integer pel values. More details can be
found in Section 7.6.2.2. of the visual(14496-2) standard.
Doing interpolation on entire VOP is not possible.
