[M4IF Technotes] MPEG-4 with timecode

Dear list,
i am trying to find out a solution that enables me to put real timecode to
iso mpeg-4.
Is there any specification within the standard to implement such a feature?
I know there is a solution based on quicktime. (You could put an additional
timecode track to an existing video track. But that´s not what i want to
do, because nevertheless when preparing for streaming, the timecode track
can not be hinted, right?)
