[M4IF Technotes] How to do streaming research using MPEG-4?

Hi, all
    I am Hong-Bin Yu from China. I am considering doing some research 
about streaming media, but I am not aware how to simulate the network 
environment. Do I have to use some network simulation software such as 
OPNET or NS-2? Or I can find some simple and easier approach? Does 
MPEG offer any simple tools to do this job?
