OK. So, I guess the conclusion is that the use of MP3 in the MPEG-4 environment can be made to work in a quite simple way as described in this thread and that a clarification in the standard would help to cast this in stone, ex. as a normative annex to MPEG-1 (I am sure Leonardo will be exited about the idea :-). Any taker ?
