The IBM Toolkit for MPEG-4 (written in Java) which can be downloaded from
IBM alphaWorks site at http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/tk4mpeg4 will
run on the Mac. This includes playback and authoring capabilities for
scenes as you describe.

Subject: [Mp4-tech] MPEG-4 players for Macintosh
I am looking for a MPEG-4 player that handles scene descriptions, as in
mulitple video objects, text and graphics. I know there exist some for
Microsoft Windows, but I only have access to macintosh computers. I run
Mac OS X 10.3.1 with QuickTime. I know quicktime can play simple mpeg-4
content, but cannot handle scene descriptions as far I know.
