yeah I heard that Microsoft said their MPEG-4 implementation doesnt
fully conform (only support MPEG-4 video) to MPEG-4 standard by ISO/IEC..
since they said, MPEG-4 system part (XMT/BIFS scripting) is better
implemented using current internet technologies) and also MPEG-4 has
some unfinished licensing terms..
they also need to hook their Digital Right Management (DRM) into MPEG-4
IPMP, and implement their own IP Streaming features (not using MPEG-4
transport layer).. so that we often found MPEG-4 content in an .asf file
format..
or may be, they just hate Apple, Quicktime, and its .MP4 file format ;)
who knows..
somewhere, I read that Microsoft ISO MPEG-4 video codec conforms to
MPEG-4 Simple Profile which means compliant to others using same Profile
anyone knows where to get RTP (source/renderer) filter for DirectShow ?
just need to test filters connectivity in GraphEdit then stream it..
thanks,
