If you want to use MPEG-4 for the native Windows Media, you should use
Windows Media producer. The files won't be compatible with any other ISO
MPEG-4 player though.
Now, you can download a plug-in for Windows Media player that would play
the MPEG-4 file. There are few available, including the one from my
company www.envivio.com. You will be then able to play the mp4 file in
all three major players: QuickTime, Windows Media, RealPlayer.
