The source code of the DivX codec is not in the public domain, but they do
have an SDK for detailed coder control (next to VCM and DirectShow based
control).
If you're really eager to have a look at the source code of an MPEG-4
compressor, then I would recommend to have a look at the MPEG-4 Visual
reference software package or at the XviD project (both being used in the
MPEG4IP project).
