[Mp4-tech] Diamond Search used in T264

This question is related to the open-source video codec T264 
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/t264).
Does anybody know if the Diamond Search method used in the T264 codec is 
different from the one in the JM reference software?
The DS in JM is often mentioned to require 6% of the search points 
compared to Full Search.
In T264 I get a result of 1.5%.
