[Mp4-tech] Question on JM residual coding

Dear expert,
I would like to extract the residual of luminance energy for each P codified frame. I think that to do this I should consider the single MB and then sum the results. In particular I'm working on the function "LumaResidualCoding8x8" but I don't understand where the calculus of the residue is done. 
Could someone of you tell me in which variable the residue is stored?
