[Mp4-tech][Video][H.264]Comparison of baseline and high profile

Dear experts,
In H.264/AVC,generally baseline profile is mainly used for low resolution codec while high profile is used for high resolution codec. Does anyone ever compared the performance of baseline vs. high on a same low resolution video (e.g QCIF or CIF) and on a same high resolution video (e.g 1024p or 1080p)? Is there any general guideline about this?
