Chirag Pujara et al,
I suggest getting a copy of the JM reference software manual, the latest version of which can be found in JVT-W041. If you do not find the answer you seek in that document, let us know and we will take action to clarify it in the next version.
Best Regards,
Gary Sullivan

Subject: [Mp4-tech] Gop definition in H.264
Hello Experts,
I am using JM11.0 reference code to encode yuv data to h264 encoded. If i
would like to know whether the Intra period in the H264 encoder spec is the same as the GOP in Mpeg2 or it has some other meaning?
For eg. If is spcify Intra period as 4 and if i dont enable the B frames the encoding order is " IPPPI' which is fine but if I specify one B frame then the encoding order is coming like " IBPBPBPBI". In this case the distance between consecutive I frames is now 8 instead of the specified value 4. I would like to know whether they consider B frames also while calculating the I frame distance or just P frames are only being considered.
----
Thanks and Regards
Chirag Pujara
