[Mp4-tech] Embeding ME Algorithms in Codec

In the JM check files mv-search.c, me_epzs.c, me_fullfast.c,
me_fullsearch.c, me_umhex.c and me_umhexsmp.c. The first provides the
basic calls for motion estimation, while the other 5 represent different
ME algorithms. Some of these algorithms may already provide you with
tools to implement some of these schemes with little effort as well.
Distortion computation is done in file me_distortion.c. We may at some
point clean up mv-search.c but hopefully you can still be able to read
through it to understand how things work (check function
BlockMotionSearch in particular).
Best regards,
Alexis

Subject: [Mp4-tech] Embeding ME Algorithms in Codec
Dear Experts,
I'm intersted in using MPEG4 codec (like JM) to simulate some famous
motion estimation algorithms like DS (Diamond Searc), FAME (Fast
Adaptive Motion Estimation algorithm), ARP (Adaptive Rood PAttern
search), ...But I don't know which modifications to the codec are
necessary to simulate these algorithms.
Could anybody help me to simulate these algorithms through MPEG4 codecs?
Yours Truly,
Soroush.
