[Mp4-tech] matrix_mixdown_idx in ES

Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding delivery of downmixing coefficient made in 
the MPEG 4 Audio standard.
Does anybody can point out why this was chosen in MPEG to be inside the 
ES? It seems similar information in DVB standard uses other means to be 
delivered in a DTV transmission.
Also, I would appreciate having any tips on how real decoders 
implementation export this metadata to external downmixing modules.
