Hi 徐晶明,
Thanks for the response.
Please note that I am not looking for the channel to speaker mapping, but only the number of channel in the audio.
Just to confirm whether I have understood it correctly, do I have to add up the values of the following parameters mentioned in
program_config_element function?
num_front_channel_elements
num_side_channel_elements
num_back_channel_elements
num_lfe_channel_elements
num_assoc_data_elements
num_valid_cc_elements
Regards,
Angshuman

Yes. In 14496-3 2005, It's "program_config_element (PCE)" that defines the channel mapping. The syntax of program_config_element is defined in subpart 4.4.1.1, and its computations are given in 4.5.1.2 of that standard.
Hope above helps.

Hi,
I would like to know how to detect the number of channels if the ChannelConfig parameter is 0. The standard says that it would be done within the GASpecifificConfig routine. Inside it, if ChannelConfig parameter is 0, the program_channel_config routine is called. Inside that, the number of front, side, back channels etc are getting computed. Are we supposed to use this information to determine the number of channels? If so, exactly how?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Angshuman
