[Mp4-tech] nc calculation in CAVLC

The distinction for purposes of calculation of nc is a matter of whether the neighbors are in the same slice or not -- not whether they are in the same slice group or not. Macroblocks within a slice are always in raster order within their slice group. They are never in some other order such as spiral order. You need to understand the difference between a slice and a slice group.

Subject: [Mp4-tech] nc calculation in CAVLC
Hi
I have missed this while going through the standard. I am trying to calculate nc (na+nb+1 >> 1) for the table selection of Table 9-5. While calculating nc should I consider na and nb if they belong to a different slice group than the one for which I am calculating nc for. Also in the FMO you can implement a spiral mapping, does it mean the slices from the same slice group are in spiral order, If thats the case how can we claculate the nc.
Thank You
Chaitanya
