Thanks Ramzi,
This is really great news for MPEG-4, and for AAC in general.
Combined with the excellent performance of MPEG-4 AAC,
these terms go a long way towards getting MPEG-4 AAC established
as a universally adopted standard for high quality and high efficiency
generic audio compression.
I am also pleased to see that the license will be available next month.
Of course I still have things on my wish list: MPEG-4 AAC in itself
is not a Profile, so a little more work would be needed to be able to get a
one-stop license for a true MPEG-4 conformance point.
This announcement, however, constitutes a major leap in that direction!
Kind Regards,
Rob Koenen
