<P>Two new members signed up for the MPEG Industry Forum recently, <A=20
href=3D"http://www.atmel.com/">Atmel</A> and <A=20
href=3D"http://www.contentguard.com/">ContentGuard</A>. With the new =
Fiscal Year=20
starting on July 1st, now is a great time to sign up for M4IF, to =
support open=20
standards, to take part in M4IF's work and to take advantage of our =
member=20
benefits. <A href=3D"http://www.m4if.org/m4if/whyjoin.php">Find out why =

<P>One of the reasons to join may be to support our continuous efforts =
as a=20
catalyst in the <A href=3D"http://www.m4if.org/patents">licensing</A> =
discussions.=20
Together with ISMA and IMTC, M4IF recently hosted an information and =
discussion=20
meeting on licensing for the upcoming Advanced Video Coding standard =
(ITU-T=20
H.264 and MPEG-4 part 10). The open and constructive meeting was =
attended by=20
representatives from major potential customers of the standard, and by a =
representation from potential licensors. The press release of the =

a (mostly anonymous) chairman summary of what was said is <A=20
