[Mp4-tech] Creating MPEG-4 scenes with references to multicast
streams

I need a tool to create MPEG-4 scenes with references to multicast
streams. I want to create a video scene with i.e. four video objects
reffering to four different multicast mpeg-4 streams. I know the
Envivio Studio authoring software can do this, but I need to assign the
multicast addresses dynamicly, so in result the scene must be created
dynamicly on demand.
The XMT-tools from IBM seems perfect to be executed from a perl script
or similar due to its command line interface. BUT IBM reports that the
tools do not support rtsp streams in the <Video> node in XMT-O. I have
asked them if the tools supports referring to rtsp-streams in XMT-A,
but are awaiting an answer. If this is not possible I do need another
tool that can do this for me? Any ideas? What about the tools from the
ENST-guys..
If no tools can do this for me, I'm looking for a hack or workaround.
Maybe I can use the IBM-tools to refer to a local MPEG-4 file, which is
a quicktime reference (dynamicly created with QT java API) to a
multicast rtsp stream. Guess this wont work, so any other ideas or
suggestions is very much appriciated.
This work has no commercial interests - but is a diploma work on my
university, creating a video conferencing server based on MPEG-4 and
multicast. I will post a link to download the application and the
report in late May 2004, when the work should be finished.
Thanks in advance,
