Try to create MPEG-2 AAC LC files with ADTS headers and the *.aac file
extension. There are several ways to achieve this, either you extract
these files from the MP4 container with a tool like mp4creator, or you
could also encode them with a codec that can output this format like
FAAC (default), Nero or compaact.
Other hardware decoders like some Philips Expanium CD portables also
play this file format only, not the AAC bitstream in a MP4 container. By
the way, the iTunes file extension *.m4a is a MP4 file container, too,
it simply uses another file extension for it.
