[Mp4-tech] [H264 decoder]

Hi all,
I am having a quick question.
What is the maximum bit-depth needed to implement a baseline/main profile
decoder?
Is there any article or so, which discuss this issue?
I sometime read, 12 bits are enough for these implementations.
Some places where I think these issues may come are:
1) Do motion vectors need 16 bits?
2) Does IDCT implementation need max 12 bits?
3) Interpolation filters may use 16 bits or above, am I right?
