Ahead Software is the technology leader in CD and DVD recording solutions. Ahead's flagship product, Nero, has transformed the CD and DVD recording landscape since its inception in 1995. Nero Digital is the new benchmark in MPEG-4 audio/video compression, encompassing full ISO/14496-2/3 compatibility, and state of the art audio, High Efficiency AAC + Parametric Stereo in MPEG-4. Ahead Software presents both Parametric Stereo Extensions in High Efficiency AAC and H264/AVC as part of major enhancements to its MPEG-4 A/V solution, Nero Digital. PS AAC offers significant improvements on existing LC and HE AAC technology, whilst AVC/H264 is increasingly accredited as the next generation in video coding.

Fraunhofer IIS and Fraunhofer IDMT

http://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/index.html

Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT pursues applied research on innovative media technologies for professional and consumer markets. Besides the revolutionary IOSONO sound reproduction system the institute focuses on MPEG-7 compliant metadata technologies, such as melody recognition and audio fingerprinting within the AudioID application. Fingerprinting technologies will be applied in music search engines, broadcast monitoring systems and production tools. Fraunhofer IIS presents at NAB recent MPEG-4 AVC video and MPEG-4 HE AAC Surround audio solutions for broadcasting and Video-on-demand services. Fraunhofer IDMT will demonstrate AudioID and the "Query by Humming" transcription system which queries a search engine using input melody.

Fraunhofer IIS is the leading international research lab in the field of high quality low bit rate audio coding. In its Audio & Multimedia department cluster a team of 80 engineers focuses on the development of audiovisual solutions. Fraunhofer IIS has been the main developer of the most advanced audio coding schemes, like MPEG Layer-3 (MP3) and MPEG AAC. At NAB Fraunhofer IIS presents the revolutionary new "HE-AAC Surround" sound technology which enables high quality 5.1-channel sound down to 48 kb/s, integrated with a Fraunhofer IIS MPEG-4 AVC video Codec.

Harmonic Inc.
