MPEG-4 News Readers,

Having received a number of positive responses to the MPEG-4 news overview of last week, this digest will turn into a weekly feature, as promised. Here is the news since the last overview.

News from M4IF

  • M4IF will hold its 11th member meeting on 14 December, on Awaji Island in Japan. This is the day after the MPEG meeting. M4IF members: Register Now.
  • If you are considering M4IF membership, you can sample this meeting. Please contact M4IF's Executive Director, Paul Ritchie. (NB: M4IF allows sampling one meeting).
  • This week, Logitech joined M4IF. MediaQ, already a member, was the 34th company to join M4IF's interop program.
  • The Interop Work Group held a meeting in Shanghai, during the MPEG meeting there, and made progress towards launching the MPEG-4 Certification Program.

Hot off the Press - German MPEG-4 technology provider dicas is making its mpegable X4 live product available for free download during the entire month of November. X4 contains Advanced Simple visual and AAC LC audio, also used in the ISMA spec.
