MPEG Industry Forum

If you're in Europe, there is Streaming Media Europe this week, with MPEG-4 panels and a small M4IF booth. If you're in the US, Broadband Plus is on the agenda.

M4IF's 11th meeting is in less than two weeks - Fri 13 and Sat 14 Dec 2023 on Awaji Island, Japan, which is very close to Osaka's Kansai International airport. Agenda and Logistics are here. License release brings MPEG-4 closer [CNET, 25 Nov 02] and MPEG-4 licensing model released [InfoWorld, 26 Nov 02] and 'Final' MPEG-4 Patent License Released [internetnews.com, 26 Nov 02] - The release of a joint licensing program for MPEG-4 Visual received much attention, while virtually nothing has changed since the release of the terms in July. The real news will be when we see people signing the license. A similar license for MPEG-4 Systems hopefully follows soon, and we are also still waiting for MPEG-4 Audio.
