Cinea Inc 2.218

Cinea, Inc., a Dolby company, develops and commercializes a broad variety of content-protection solutions for the motion picture and television industries. Cinea is showing its Running Marks technology, which provides customers with the ability to embed invisible, unique product IDs in individual video streams.
Cinea’s capability to watermark compressed video streams allows the watermarking for both VoD headend as well as set-top box applications. A key advantage is that it enables system operators to add subscriber-specific serialization capabilities to their VoD headend, with no changes to the downstream devices. This same feature also offers significant advantages in the set-top box by enabling watermarking of all video outputs, including compressed digital content in home video networks.

Fraunhofer IIS M282/8.381

At the IBC Mobile Zone Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS presents DVB-H in 5.1 MPEG Surround Sound. MPEG Surround allows highly efficient transmission of true multi-channel sound at only 48kb/s (with HE-AAC). The special feature for mobile TV is the binaural mode which allows a realistic playback of surround sound over stereo headphones. The binaural rendering of the 5.1 signal happens in real-time inside the player. The video part of the SDK consists of optimised MPEG4 AVC/H.264 decoders. In addition, the player comes along with the integration of ISMACryp – an encryption system for the secure transfer of multimedia content. The DVB-H player SDK works for Windows CE and embedded Linux-based devices and operates with DVB-H receivers using the IP interface.
Besides the Mobile Zone presence, Fraunhofer IIS Audio and Multimedia Realtime Systems departments is also exhibiting in hall 8, at booth 8.381. Presentations involve a real-time implementation of an MPEG Surround decoder for fixed-point DSP platforms, MPEG4 AVC for IPTV and HD video applications, as well as an enhanced low-delay audio codec for communication scenarios.
