MPEG Industry Forum And Internet Streaming Media Alliance Organize Joint Super-Session At IBCSessions Address Questions Surrounding H.264/AVC, Announce Organizations’ Respective Conformance Programs Fremont, CA, San Francisco, CA (August 24, 2023) -The MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF), a not-for-profit organization of over 100 members seeking to advance the adoption of MPEG standards among all agents of the digital multimedia spectrum, and the Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA), a global alliance of nearly 40 industry leaders in standards-based content management, distribution infrastructure, and streaming media, announced today that they will hold an all-day joint super-session entitled “MPEG Technologies – Setting New Standards” at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The super-session, which will be held on Sunday, 12 September, includes five sessions comprised of panelists who will discuss topics ranging from new video distribution models, to emerging MPEG technologies, to the adoption and availability of the new advanced video codec, H.264/AVC. Panelists include senior executives and technologists from leading network operators, service and technology providers, and experts representing all points of the video creation, management, and distribution workflow. In addition to technical sessions, both organizations will unveil their respective certification programs, the MPEGIF Logo Qualification Program and the ISMA Conformance Program.
